Practice of Psychological Interpretation of the Bible”
by the same author.
Rev.Dr.Jose Puthenveed was the Head of Dept. of Psychology, Fatima Mata National College, Kollam, Kerala, India, from September 1981 to 31st May 2004. In 1990 he received M.A. in Addiction Counseling from Siena Heights University, Adrian, Michigan and in 2000 he was awarded PhD by Kerala University.
He has been enriched with a wide experience as a pastor, teacher and psychotherapist. He conducts courses and seminars for parents and teachers and psycho-spiritual growth programs for the Catholic religious communities. He is the founder and the chief resource person for the popular website: www.psybibleinterpreter.org which gives psychological interpretations of familiar Bible passages and Sunday homilies for the Catholic liturgy.

As an accomplished individual, the author’s journey is marked by a series of noteworthy achievements. From academic endeavours to professional milestones, his path reflects dedication, perseverance, and a relentless pursuit of excellence.
Rev. Dr. Jose Puthenveed, formerly the Head of the Department of Psychology at FMN College in Kollam, is a distinguished professional in the field. He holds a postgraduate degree in Psychology from Aligarh Muslim University in India, along with a masters degree in Addiction Counselling from Siena Heights University in Michigan, USA.
Additionally, he possesses a Bachelor of Theology degree and a PhD from Kerala University, where his doctoral thesis focused on the personality traits of Kerala fishermen. He has actively contributed to various organizations and initiatives, serving as the Secretaryof the Conference of Catholic Psychologists India (CCPI) and as a member of the Governing Body of the State Resources Centre in Kerala. Moreover, he has been a practicing psychotherapist, specializing in child disorders, phobias, and addiction treatments.
Dr. Puthenveed is renowned as a trainer in counselling skills, group therapy, and psychotherapeutic interventions, providing training sessions for teachers, parents, and other professionals. He has also held positions such as a Member of the Board of Studies at the University of Kerala.
His expertise extends internationally, as he represented India at the Symposium on Drugs organized by the Vatican as a CBCI delegate in 1997. Furthermore, he has served as the President of the Indian Psychosocial Service Society (IPSS), Currently he is serving the Diocese of Quilon as the Director of the Migrant Commission.
